Safe Mode When the computer is booting press and hold the F8 key. Use the arrow keys to select safe mode and press enter. When you shut down in safe mode it should automatically return to normal mode.
Windows XP users can also enter safe mode by choosing Run from the start menu, type msconfig and press ok.
Select BOOT.INI tab, enable the /SAFEBOOT option and select ok. To exit uncheck /SAFEBOOT and check Normal Startup.
