Disable Start Up Programs

    Example provided for Windows XP users.  Click the Start button, select Run...,   type in msconfig and press ok

This takes you to the System Configuration Utility.  Select the Startup tab, now un-check unnecessary startup programs, select apply and okay. 

You now have to reboot.  You will get a message saying that your startup programs have changed.  Check the box to prevent from displaying again.
